Going Pro?

March 7, 2007 § Leave a comment

I’ve been playing with the idea of going professional with tarot — after some more serious practice, development, and giving more free readings to friends and family. This is not to say that I would have this as my one and only job, but that I could do it part time, do some advertising for readings in the area and see if I get any bites.

I would charge $20 for a half hour, $30 for an hour. This is not including a free 5-10 minute tarot introduction at the beginning, and at the end encourage the querent to write down one sentence on a card (which I could decorate in a number of ways) on what they want to take with them from the reading — along with a tape or CD of the session (which at this price maybe I should require they provide for me to use). I would also want to send them off with a “cheat sheet” of information about tarot, with my info on it of course — perhaps also two coupons for $5 off a reading for a friend or themselves?

Basically, the extra income would be nice, and I’d really like to work with tarot anyway, so I think this might be a good idea. For now, though, I need to graduate, and also become more proficient at using the tarot for myself and others.
