Two One-Card Readings for K

April 7, 2008 § 4 Comments

Deck: Goddess Tarot (same one we used previous)
Querent: friend (K)
Reading was done by myself after she specified the topics and asked for two one-card readings. I emailed her the responses, hence the links.

Topic: plans to go to Korea, in general
Card: Tradition (Juno)/High Priest/Hierophant Reversed
I’m interpreting this as you’re going about plans because you should, because something tells you this is the right course, when it might not be. Tradition, following, or looking to authority for answers is not the best course of action.
Standard interpretation
Interpretation of reversed

Topic: K’s April
Card: King of Staves/Wands
Take initiative, make your own path of ambition and own it.

Reading for K

October 30, 2007 § Leave a comment

Deck: Goddess Tarot
Date: 9/24/07 Monday
Time: evening
Spread: for each question/category: past/present/before upcoming travel plans/while traveling
Querent: K
Questions/Topics: 1) K & current romantic interest; 2) travel and its effect on social life & self; 3) career aspirations

1) Querent and Romantic Interest
traveling: 3 of Pents-RV / before travel:?? / present: Sun-RV / past: 6 of Wands
This is where my laziness around immediate notetaking (or lack thereof) really bit me in the ass. My card for “before traveling” timeline for querent’s current romantic interest (which was her major concern in this spread) was not noted, just a blank on my sketch of the spread. Damn.

Reading for Self: Spread of the Day

March 15, 2007 § Leave a comment

Deck: Llewellyn Tarot
Date: 03/15/07 Thursday (waning moon)
Time: ended 11:24pm
Spread: Message for Tomorrow (spread of the day – three cards)
Querent: Self

13-Transformation-Ukemochi — 4 of Staves — 9-Contemplation-Chang O

(Death — 4W — Hermit)

The overall beauty of this spread, just to look at visually, is really fascinating. Transformation looks like morning, excitement, new starts; 4S looks like high noon, charged, grounded, successful; Contemplation looks like evening or night.

Spread: Three Card Motto

December 26, 2006 § Leave a comment

This idea came from The Aclectic Tarot forums. (The exact location is here.) Basically the reader should do a three-card spread, without any specific meanings for location of cards within the spread, and develop a little maxim that is useful for the querent at that time.

My Test Spread

Deck: Goddess Tarot
Date: 12/25/06 Monday
Time: noonish
Spread: Three Card Motto

3 of Pentacles RV — 8 of Pentacles RV — 4 of Pentacles

Motto: Talents must be developed (and advocated by a fair price) before they can earn money.

Commentary: 3P-RV really says it all, though the other two support it. In a reading, 3P-RV means that skills are still developing and must be further developed before they can be taken to market or used to earn money. 8P talks about having fair compensation for one’s work, and reversed in this context emphasizes that one must avoid settling for unfair compensation of their skills and talent. 4P shows the end goal: financial stability. Therefore the goal is not using talent and skills for luxury, but for breadwinning, earning for a comfortable and stable living.
